Megan Beseth
Tax Analyst, Attorney
Megan Beseth is not your typical lawyer. In fact, she started her career as a dancer when earning a law degree was the furthest thing from her mind.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ohio University; she set about teaching in various disciplines from Jazz to Ballet. In addition, she choreographed many dance productions in artistic spaces such as the Factory Street Dance Studio and the American College Dance Festival.
As most dancers have a second job to pay the bills, she thought: Why not law?
Megan enrolled in the Chicago-Kent College of Law and by 2008, she was admitted to the Illinois State Bar. Since then, Megan has seamlessly managed to balance both careers with finesse. She honed her legal expertise by acting as the independent Attorney for Artist and Non-profits and several years later, she joined American Tax Solutions as a law clerk. Now working as an Tax Defender Attorney, she helps small businesses deal with self-employment tax, payroll and filing requirements at both the local and state level.
Megan is also the Principle Artist and Contributing Choreographer at the Shelter Repertory Dance Theater in Norwalk, Wisconsin.
